Employees of the State Security Service, in an operational operation conducted in cooperation with the "Tashkent-AERO" specialized customs complex, put a stop to the import of synthetic narcotic substances from Thailand to Uzbekistan. A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident.
According to reports, two citizens, one born in 2004 in Jizzakh region and another born in 1993 in the capital, who were flying on the Bangkok — Tashkent route, were inspected at Tashkent International Airport.
During the inspection, 4.6 kilograms of the synthetic narcotic substance "mephedrone," placed and hidden in glass and aluminum containers, were found among their luggage.
Subsequently, their place of residence in Tashkent city was also examined. There, 1.5 liters of hashish oil and 8 liters of solvent were found and officially seized in the prescribed manner.
During the operational measures, another person, born in 1997 in Jizzakh region, was also detained while receiving narcotic substances brought from abroad in Tashkent city. From him, 635 grams of the narcotic substance "alpha-PVP" were confiscated.
In connection with these circumstances, a criminal case has been initiated against the detained persons under Part 2 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code (smuggling), and investigative actions are being carried out.
According to current legislation, the commission of such a crime is punishable by deprivation of liberty for 10 to 20 years.
