Russian MMA fighter Islam Makhachev defeated Irishman Ian Machado Garry in the main fight of the UFC 330 tournament held in Philadelphia. The fight lasted the full five rounds.

Makhachev knocked his opponent down in the second round and ultimately won by unanimous judges' decision — 49:46, 49:46, 48:47.

The 34-year-old Makhachev thus defended the welterweight championship belt for the first time. His consecutive wins count reached 17. This is the longest winning streak in UFC history. The previous record belonged to Brazilian Anderson Silva, who won 16 fights in a row.

Makhachev's professional MMA record consists of 29 wins and 1 loss. Machado Garry, in turn, accepted his second career loss.
