The owners of London's Chelsea club, Todd Boehly and Mark Walter, intend to sell their stakes in the team. The Financial Times reported this.
According to the publication, Boehly and Walter are in negotiations to sell their stakes to Clearlake, a company that owns approximately 60 percent of Chelsea shares.
Todd Boehly and Mark Walter were part of a group of investors who bought the club from Roman Abramovich in 2022 for 2.5 billion pounds sterling.
After the club was purchased, Boehly and Walter had several disagreements with Clearlake regarding Chelsea's strategy.
The negotiations are currently taking place at a time when Mark Walter's business assets have come under the scrutiny of various regulatory bodies.
The 66-year-old American businessman is also trying to sell some of his important assets. He recently sold his stake in the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA at a record valuation of 12 billion dollars.
It should be noted that earlier, a consortium involving Amazon founder Jeff Bezos bought a minority stake in England's Liverpool club.
