In Tashkent, it is proposed to set working hours from 8:00 to 17:00 in the city and district administrations, city departments, and their subordinate divisions. This was announced by the Tashkent city administration.
Currently, a public survey is being conducted regarding this proposal.
According to the proposal, the total length of the working day will not change. Only employees will start work one hour earlier and finish work one hour earlier compared to the current working hours.
According to the administration, the new work schedule could serve to harmonize the working hours of the city population and public services, quickly coordinate matters requiring the involvement of several agencies, and reduce the load on roads during the morning rush hour.
The analysis of the Traffic Management Center also noted that coordinating start times would help distribute traffic flows evenly.
If the new schedule is introduced, employees' lunch breaks will also be changed accordingly.
The final decision will be made after studying public opinion. If the proposal is supported by the population, it will be submitted for agreement with trade union organizations in accordance with the established procedure.
The survey results will be summarized on August 28.
