According to the airline, after a technical malfunction occurred on the aircraft, it was decided to carry out the flight on a reserve aircraft.
It is said that passengers were provided with necessary assistance during the waiting time. According to the company, initially passengers were given cold drinks and sandwiches, and later vouchers for hot meals and water.
However, in a video spread on social networks, some passengers said that they were only given bread and a bun.
“They are giving one bread and one bun. It is fine for the young, they ate the bun. What will the elderly eat? No hot tea was given to anyone,” says one of the passengers in the video address.
According to the airline’s information, information about changes to the flight schedule and subsequent updates was promptly announced on a special information channel for passengers and those meeting them. This information was provided via the “uzairways_live” Telegram channel.
The company announced that, in order not to prolong the waiting time further, a flight was organized on the Istanbul–Tashkent route to bring passengers on a reserve aircraft.
“We understand how inconvenient such a prolonged delay is for passengers. We regret the situation,” the airline’s statement says.
