President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is holding an open dialogue with investors and entrepreneurs on issues of accelerating the construction of New Tashkent. A Darakchi.uz correspondent reported this.

The head of state noted that at the meeting, proposals expressed by entrepreneurs, as well as problems related to land allocation, permits, and payments, had been studied.

It was reported that within the framework of the project launched three years ago, large funds are being directed to the construction of important facilities such as infrastructure, a stadium, a university, and a library in New Tashkent. To date, more than $2 billion in investment has been brought into the city.

At the same time, it was noted that the pace of attracting the private sector to construction does not match existing opportunities.

A total of 20,000 hectares of land has been allocated for New Tashkent. In the first phase of the project, it is planned to implement $50 billion worth of projects on an area of 6,000 hectares. Along with the construction of a new airport, there is an opportunity to bring the region's investment potential up to $200 billion.

At present, construction work is being carried out on an area of more than a thousand hectares mainly at the expense of state funds. Entrepreneurs, meanwhile, have so far been allocated 94 hectares of land.
