The head of state emphasized that New Tashkent should become an independent economic center attracting modern business, education, healthcare, tourism, and services. However, so far two-thirds of the allocated land areas are for housing projects.
In addition, construction work has not begun on 28 lots allocated to investors. The President said it would be wrong to explain this situation by entrepreneurs’ lack of funds or desire. According to him, old-style requirements, drawn-out permitting processes, and some agencies acting as supervisors instead of cooperating are hindering the projects.
"The investor, however, does not wait. If he does not feel support and guarantees, he will direct his funds to another market," — said the head of state.
In this regard, it was emphasized that the process from allocating land to entrepreneurs to launching the project must be reviewed.
It was reported that demand for land in New Tashkent is growing. If in 2024 the average value of one hectare of land did not even reach 10 billion soums, now this figure has reached 19 billion soums.
