In the city of Andijan, a clandestine workshop engaged in the production of unguaranteed quality medicines and biologically active additives has been shut down. This was reported by the Press Service of the Customs Committee.
It is noted that at one of the addresses in the city, 4 legal entities, under the guise of producing "chemical additives for food products," were illegally preparing medicines and biologically active additives.
During inspections, it became known that this secret laboratory produced 100 types of products widely popular among the population, such as Vitamix, Gegsi, "Ferrumfer", Winds Baby, "Lyuvit", "Yodovit", "Gepporooz", "Bifidolin", and "Yodoplyus".
Among them were syrups for children, pain relievers, medications for joint and skin diseases, blood-increasing drugs, suppositories, and special teas.
According to reports, the products were packaged in a way that inspired customer confidence in appearance. However, they were prepared and stored in completely unsanitary conditions.
During the operational measures, 13 production equipment, 6 seals, devices for removing expiration dates, 214,000 unlabeled empty glass containers, 78,000 empty capsules, 503,209 finished products, and 105 kilograms of unnamed powder were seized as material evidence from the secret workshop.
According to preliminary estimates, the total value of the confiscated products amounts to nearly 5 billion soums.
Currently, customs authorities are conducting pre-investigation inquiries regarding the situation.
Let us recall that in March of this year, individuals producing counterfeit medicines were also arrested in Andijan. At that time, the value of the original versions of the confiscated products was estimated at 10 billion soums. Experts stated that if these drugs had reached the market, they could have posed a serious threat to the health of over 200,000 patients.
