In Uzbekistan, the number of drivers whose penalty points have exceeded 12 has reached 107. This was reported by the Traffic Safety Service on May 19.

According to the report, these drivers will now be deprived of the right to drive a vehicle through a court procedure. Additionally, they will be required to attend compulsory training courses and retake both theoretical and practical exams.

Under the new procedure, the theoretical exam will consist of 50 questions instead of the previous 20. Drivers are required to answer at least 46 questions correctly to pass the exam.

For reference, as of May 8, the number of drivers whose penalty points exceeded 12 was 49.

Let us remind you that starting from June 1, 2025, penalty points have been introduced for offenses recorded by traffic police officers under 12 articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.

Furthermore, from April 1, 2026, penalty points will also be assigned for certain offenses detected automatically by traffic violation recording devices. These include disobeying a traffic light's prohibiting signal, violating stopping and parking rules, driving into oncoming traffic, and failing to comply with speed limits.

In accordance with Article 34-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, drivers who accumulate 12 penalty points within one year will be deprived of their driving license for a period of at least 6 months.

Now, these drivers will be stripped of their driving rights by a court decision and will have to retake the exam. The theoretical test will be significantly more difficult than before.
