Donald Trump's migration policy has resulted in over 145,000 children being separated from their parents. This was reported based on the results of a study conducted by the Brookings Institution in Washington.
According to the study, from January 2025 to April 2026, officers of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended approximately 400,000 people.
These processes directly affected a total of 205,000 children. Among them, it is reported that there are 146,635 U.S. citizens whose father or mother (or both) were detained.
Furthermore, the report records cases where both parents of 22,000 children were taken into custody.
Researchers emphasize that these circumstances could intensify social and psychological consequences, further sharpening debates around migration policy.
