Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyz Republics discussed the efficient use of border customs posts located on the border of the two countries during their meeting held in Uzbekistan on July 18-19 of this year.

Following that, customs and border service leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyz Republics inspected the existing customs posts in the Fergana region. The Fergana regional Customs Department reported about this. As a result of negotiations conducted to establish new customs posts and make efficient use of the existing ones, and to prevent congestion at customs posts, starting from July 26 of this year, the Fergana regional customs department's "Fergana" border customs post and the "Ok-qia" customs point located at the entrance to Shahimardan were switched to a 24/7 operation mode.

Now Shahimardan visitors have the opportunity to move through this customs post at any time.
