For half a year, the highest average salary in the republic was paid in Tashkent city. The Statistics Agency reported this.
From January to June 2024, the average monthly salary in Uzbekistan increased by 17.4 percent compared to the same period last year, amounting to 5 million 92 thousand UZS. For comparison, the growth rate of wages in the same period of 2023 increased by 22 percent compared to the previous year.
In the first half of the current year, the highest average monthly salaries were recorded in Tashkent city (8.4 million UZS) and Navoi region (6.6 million UZS). The average salary in any other region did not reach the total of 5 million 92 thousand UZS.
Relatively high average monthly salaries were paid in Tashkent (4.9 million UZS), Andijan (4.4 million UZS) regions, and Karakalpakstan (4.2 million UZS). The lowest average monthly salaries were calculated in Kashkadarya (3.6 million UZS), Surkhandarya (3.7 million UZS), and Namangan (3.8 million UZS) regions.
Over six months, the highest growth rates of average monthly nominal wages were observed in Tashkent city (20.2 percent), Samarkand (18.2 percent), Andijan (17.6 percent), Fergana (16.8 percent), and Navoi (16.2 percent) regions.
The highest average monthly salary over half a year was recorded in banking, insurance, leasing, credit, and brokerage activities — 14.4 million UZS. At the same time, higher than the average amount (5 million 92 thousand UZS) salaries were paid in information and communication, transportation and storage, industry, trade, and construction sectors.
The average salary in living and food services, education, healthcare, and social service sectors did not reach 5 million UZS.
