According to information, this is related to a warning of a possible severe earthquake and tsunami. Kishida announced the cancellation of the trip during a press conference held on Friday. He was supposed to participate in a summit between Japan and Central Asian countries taking place in Astana.Currently, officials in the country are said to be working on cancelling the trip and moving the topics to be discussed to an online format.
A 7.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Miyazaki Prefecture in southwest Japan on Thursday, August 8.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the earthquakes were recorded at a depth of 30 km. The Japanese government also warned of the tsunami risk in Kochi and Miyazaki prefectures.
