In Andijan, a sports school coach demanded $7,000 in exchange for not spreading information about an intimate relationship. The regional Department of Internal Affairs reported this.
According to the reports, on July 27, 2024, during an operational event conducted by the authorities in Andijan, a children and teenagers sports school coach and one of his criminal accomplices were caught red-handed while trying to blackmail a citizen, a woman living in the Andijan district. They threatened to disgrace her by disclosing audio recordings of her in an intimate relationship to her family members and law enforcement agencies unless she paid the demanded $7,000.
In the course of the pre-investigation check on this case, it was found that in June of this year, the sports school coach and his accomplice had already extorted $3,000 by threatening not to disclose confidential information that should have been kept secret.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Department of the Andijan regional Department of Internal Affairs under part 2 of Article 165 of the Criminal Code, and preliminary investigative actions are being carried out.
