A citizen tried to smuggle gold with a counterfeit stamp through the international airport. This was reported by the "Tashkent-AERO" Civil Aviation Administration's press service.
The estimated value of the gold was 76 million UZS.
According to the report, based on the expertise conclusion No. 000185 from the “State Precious Metals Assessment Chamber” dated August 16 of this year, customs officers at the Islam Karimov "Tashkent International Airport" checked a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan flying on the "Tashkent-Delhi" route on August 6, using a contactless personal inspection device. According to this inspection, it was discovered that the citizen was wearing two pieces of yellow metal jewelry on his wrist, which had a counterfeit imprint of the state precious metal stamp number 583. According to alternative sources, the jewelry was valued at 76 million 387 thousand UZS and had a total weight of 120.77 grams. Currently, investigative actions regarding the case are being carried out.
