As a result, inside his handbag was found a gold watch decorated with white stones, branded “Patek Philippe Geneve” which was not declared according to customs regulations, exceeding the norm for personal importation, and valued at 1 billion 540 million 260 thousand UZS.
Currently, investigative actions are being conducted regarding this incident.
For your information, individuals are allowed to bring in jewelry made of silver up to a weight of 200 grams and gold and other precious metals up to a weight of 65 grams without filling out a customs declaration form, and items above these limits must be declared through a passenger customs declaration when leaving the customs territory of Uzbekistan.
The citizen who violates this regulation will be held accountable according to Article 227-19 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
