The meeting with athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics, their parents, and coaches began at the Kok Saroy presidential residence.  This was reported by the Presidential press service.
 
Our country's leader sincerely congratulated the boys and girls once again with all his heart on their worthy participation in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games and their great historic victory.
 
“This prestigious sports event, which included almost 11,000 of the most famous athletes from more than 200 countries, has indeed been a record-breaking and unparalleled success for us.
 
First and foremost, it is necessary to emphasize that Uzbekistan participated in the Olympics with its largest team ever, namely, 90 athletes across 19 sports disciplines.
 
In particular, it is essential to recognize the participation of our athletes in Olympics for the first time in sports such as women's wrestling, archery, diving, and football,” said the President.
 
It was highlighted that Olympic medals and achievements in the sports world reflect the overall development and human progress level of the country.
 
“Indeed, by demonstrating high courage and valor in intensely competitive battles and securing 8 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals, you have brightly showcased the high potential of our country's progress. 
 
This historic victory has once again proven what great feats the youth of New Uzbekistan are capable of,” said the leader of our country.
 
Our country ranked 13th among participating states in the overall team standing, 4th in Asia, and 1st among Turkic, Islamic countries, and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
 
This achievement has been noted as an unprecedented success in the history of Uzbekistan.
 
The attention given to sports in every country in such a major international competition that takes place every four years, and the physical and spiritual potential of the nation and people, are clearly demonstrated.
 
In such a grand arena, the strongest and most skilled athletes, the best of the best, participate.
