“The prayer of my mother protects me” song made Sardor Mamadaliyev liable for compensation and moral damages. This was informed by lawyer Behzod Ghaniyev.
According to the court document attached, the plaintiff Juraev Asadulla Jumaevich has filed a lawsuit claiming that the defendant Mamadaliyev Sardor Marupovich used his poem “Curse” in the song “The prayer of my parents”, posted it on social networks, performed it in concerts, and created a music video for it, thus asked for compensation and moral damages.
By the court decision, the singer is ordered to pay the poet compensation in the amount of 66 million soms and moral damages in the amount of 15 million soms.
Court documents state that the authorship of the creative work “Curse” (the poem) belongs to the plaintiff himself, as proven by the 9th issue of the “Sharq Yulduzi” magazine in 1990 and the official website “www.ziyouz.com library” authored by D.Tojaliyev, who is considered to be my classmate.
According to the online monitoring department, the court's decision has not been overturned by higher instances and is legally binding as of today.
