Armenia is preparing for a visa-free regime with the European Union.

The Prime Minister of the country, Nikol Pashinyan, announced this.

Yerevan and Brussels have begun negotiations on visa liberalization between Vice-President Margaritis Schinas mediating. This was reported by zamon.uz here.

Schinas visited Yerevan on September 9th. Schinas Armenia's initiation of dialogue with the European Union to implement a visa-free regime was called a "historic event".

 However, Armenia's path to implementing a visa-free regime with the European Union is through major reforms in the areas of combating corruption, security of travel documents, border control, migration, and respecting fundamental rights of movement and freedom.
