Additional responsibilities were assigned to the Tourism Committee.

“On additional measures to further develop medical and wellness tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan” according to the President's Decree, 50 percent of accreditation costs for the first 30 private medical institutions that have passed accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI) will be covered. 

The following additional tasks were assigned to the Tourism Committee:

Organizing promotional campaigns about the capabilities of medical and wellness institutions in the Republic for foreign citizens in the territory of Uzbekistan's border customs posts;

  • forming and constantly updating a unified register of medical and wellness institutions in the state language and foreign languages;
  • organizing the certification of sanatoriums of the categorized (star-rated) hotel type;
  • developing special medical and wellness tourism directions (routes).

By March 1, 2025, the following will be launched:

  • an electronic platform for rating the quality of services of medical institutions, sanatoriums, and tour operators serving the medical tourism direction;
  • a unified register of medical and wellness institutions in the state language and foreign languages.
