According to a report given by the CCB Press Service, based on the experts' conclusion, the death rate from this infection causing severe hemorrhagic fever is extremely high — equal to 90 percent.

Currently, many cases related to this pathology have been recorded in the country of Rwanda in the African continent. Scientists are concerned about the dangerous virus now potentially spreading widely across the globe.

It is known that Marburg fever can be transmitted to humans from bats. Moreover, direct contact with biological fluids (blood, saliva, urine) from infected patients, as well as through various object surfaces, actively spreads the infection.

Experts emphasize that the Marburg virus, like Ebola, is highly contagious, and currently, there are no confirmed treatment modalities available. Furthermore, no vaccines have been developed against this disease.

The symptoms of the disease are similar to other tropical fever pathologies. According to the World Health Organization, symptoms begin suddenly and the patient suffers from high body temperature, severe headaches, and agitation.

Pain in the muscles intensifies, with frequent occurrences of delirium. Additionally, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting can also be observed.

On the fifth day of the disease, rashes may appear on the chest, back, and abdominal cavity. In severe cases, death can occur by the eighth to ninth day.

We remind you that in previous years, the Marburg virus was also registered in the countries of Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.
