Uzbek French language teachers will be sent to France for advanced training on a grant basis. About this, the Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova reported.
“We participated in the 19th summit of the International Organisation of La Francophonie held in France. During the summit, various meetings took place, and we are reaching important agreements”, the minister wrote on her social media page.
According to her statement, on October 7th she met with the head of the Francophonie University in Nice, Yann Librati. During the meeting, Librati expressed his confidence that Uzbekistan in the direction of the French language will become a regional “hub”.
The importance of accelerating various professional development programs and mutual experience exchanges was noted during the meeting. The French side indicated their support for new projects in these directions.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the Francophonie University in Nice to send 200 Uzbek French language teachers to France for advanced training on a grant basis throughout 2025.
Currently, French is taught as a foreign language in nearly 600 schools in Uzbekistan and as a second foreign language in about 100 schools.
