On October 15-16 of this year, a prestigious international conference on the theme of “Islam – the Religion of Peace and Goodness” will be held in Tashkent and Khiva cities This was announced by Ilhom Marupov, the head of the Information Service of the Committee on Religious Affairs, during a briefing held at the AOCA.
More than 70 leaders of prestigious international organizations, religious figures, muftis and renowned scholars from 22 countries around the world including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Oman, Russia, the USA, France, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, India, and Pakistan will participate in the conference.
The main goal of the conference – is to widely promote the values of the Islamic religion and its peace-loving essence in the conditions of intense globalization, to cultivate in the youth a respect for religious tolerance and universal values, to form in them an uncompromising attitude to the radical views alien to Islam, and to present to the international community the Uzbekistan's experience in maintaining the balance between religiosity and secularism.
The conference, aimed at revealing the true essence of critical issues, will start its work on October 15 in the conference hall of the “Hilton” complex in the city of Tashkent. The conference will be conducted in three sessions.
The conference will continue on October 16 in the city of Khiva. There, the final declaration of the international conference on the theme “Islam – the Religion of Peace and Goodness” will be adopted.
