In Khiva city, the ongoing international conference on the topic of “Islam – the Religion of Benevolence and Peace” saw the participation of the President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars Ali Muhyiddin Al-Qaradaghi, the Executive Director of the Peace Research Center under the Council of Muslim Scholars Samir Budinar, the Mufti of Egypt Dr. Nazir Muhammad Ayyad, the Vice Chancellor of India’s “Dar al-Huda” Islamic University Jamaludin Nadwi, the Doctor of Bulgar Islamic Academy Saiful Asri, the Chairman of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Grand Mufti Nauryzbay Tagan's son, a Professor at Istanbul University Emek Ushenmez, a Professor at Tekirdağ University in Turkey Halit Eren, the Project Director at the French National Center for Scientific Research Karim Ifrak who spoke and delivered lectures on the conference theme.
Participants emphasized that our land has produced great scholars and theologians, highlighting the importance of studying their scientific legacy today, revealing the true humanitarian essence of Islam, and the significance of preserving peace and safety, which are among the greatest blessings, in their calls that remain of current relevance.
Currently, the issues of Islamophobia, the ongoing conflicts between some countries, and the rise of negative aspects of globalization were noted, supporting the need to deeply study our religion’s teachings and promote education among the youth to prevent such problems.
Furthermore, participants proposed a number of positive initiatives within the scope of the topic and sent an appeal to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, adopting the conference declaration.
It is noteworthy that the event was attended by more than 70 distinguished leaders of international organizations, religious figures, muftis, and renowned scholars from 22 countries around the world, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Oman, Russia, the USA, France, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, India, and Pakistan.
