The head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, announced that she read out the President's congratulatory address to the participants of the 8th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility, which opened its work in Samarkand.

According to her, this forum provided an opportunity to discuss issues related to climate change that remain pressing for Central Asia and the entire world. At the same time, the event once again demonstrated that Uzbekistan's role and prestige in the global environmental agenda are steadily strengthening.

Saida Mirziyoyeva noted that the "Eco Expo Central Asia – 2026" exhibition was also organized as part of the Assembly. According to her, at the exhibition site, agreements were signed to attract $80 million in grants and more than $520 million in investments for financing "green" projects.

"Now the main task is to effectively implement these nature conservation initiatives into practice," Mirziyoyeva said.

It is noted that more than 8,500 specialists from 180 countries of the world are participating in the 8th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility and the "Eco Expo Central Asia – 2026" exhibition.
