The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), an agency related to the United Nations, has had its request to evacuate people trapped under the rubble in northern Gaza denied by Israel. UNRWA representative Inas Hamdan announced this.
"Over the last two weeks, we have been talking about the intensification of the siege in the north of Gaza and the Jabalia refugee camp. The situation is worsening. The ongoing military operations by Israel in the north of Gaza are putting the lives of tens of thousands of civilians in serious jeopardy," the report says.
According to her words, Israel's attacks in the north of Gaza are hindering people's access to essential needs, including water. She mentioned that Palestinians trapped in their homes in the Jabalia refugee camp are without water and food.
She emphasized that on October 18th, Israel attacked two hospitals in the north of Gaza, worsening the humanitarian situation in the area.
Due to power outages and a lack of equipment, the death toll among patients in the hospitals has increased.
Requests by UNRWA groups to rescue people trapped under the rubble in the north of Gaza have been rejected by Israel, she added.
