The 59th general session of the Senate reviewed the Law on “Amending and Supplementing the Tax and Customs Codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
The Law provides tax and customs privileges to telecom operators for the importation of technical equipment for rapid search operations systems into the territory of the republic.
According to the amendment to the Tax Code, henceforth, technical equipment for rapid search operations systems imported into the territory of the republic by a specially authorized state body will be exempt from taxation and will not be considered as a taxable object.
In addition, an amendment is being introduced into the Customs Code that provides tariff privileges for the exemption of the above-mentioned technical equipment from customs duties.
Furthermore, other agencies including the military are being exempted from customs fees during the customs clearance of military cargoes.
As the Senators noted, the Law serves to further refine the procedure for utilizing the designated tax and customs privileges for the importation of technical equipment for rapid search operations systems into the republic's territory, as well as to enhance the effectiveness of these operations.
Following the discussion, the Law was approved by the Senators.
