The General Prosecutor's Office has announced that enterprises polluting the air in Tashkent city and Tashkent region are being inspected here.

Analyses have revealed that industrial enterprises of categories I and II, which have a high impact on the environment, are delaying the installation of modern dust and gas cleaning equipment scheduled for 2024; it has been found that of the 27 enterprises in the Tashkent region, only 19 have implemented these measures, and in Tashkent city, only 8 out of 31 enterprises have done so.

“The violations identified by the General Prosecutor's Office will be strictly monitored, and decisive and uncompromising measures will be taken regarding them,” the report states.

The prosecutorial bodies have embarked on planned inspection activities across the republic starting from September 2024, focusing on the implementation of the law "On the Protection of Atmospheric Air", the relevant decrees and instructions of the President, and other legal documents concerning the sector, aiming to reduce the volume of harmful emissions into the atmosphere and improve the state of atmospheric air.

The inspections in Tashkent city and Tashkent region are carried out directly by the General Prosecutor's Office, starting from October 22, with the involvement of specialists from the Ministry of Ecology, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Hydrometeorological Service Agency, the Inspection of Construction Sector Control, and other relevant organizations.
