By the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the regulation regarding the provision of free railway or intercity bus tickets to elderly people living alone or those in need of care, as well as to persons with disabilities, has been approved.
The regulation includes the procedure for issuing and accounting for free travel tickets, as well as the mechanism for compensating the costs of free travels.
According to the decision, the "Insan" social services center will maintain a registry of the elderly living alone or those in need of care, as well as persons with disabilities, in the "Unified National Social Protection" information system.
Within one month, the authorized divisions of "Uzbekistan Railways" JSC will grant the officials of bus stations access to use this registry.
Registered lonely elderly and persons with disabilities, as well as their direct caregivers, will be allocated free railway or intercity bus tickets (round trip) once a year.
For the issuance of a free travel ticket, citizens in the aforementioned categories need to present an identity document to the responsible official.
