South Korea's anti-corruption agency has accused President Yoon Suk Yeol of involvement in a scandal, granting permission for his arrest. This was reported by “Yonhap”.

The prosecution had previously assigned the status of a suspect in this case to the head of state. The South Korean Anti-Corruption Investigation Department has authorized the arrest of Yoon Suk Yeol within the framework of the scandal investigation.

"Regardless of the suspect's position, legal measures must be taken," the report says.

Moreover, the national police have not ruled out the possibility of questioning the President over his attempt to declare martial law in the country last week, accusing him of treason.

“Currently, the issue of banning Yoon Suk Yeol from leaving the country is being considered,” say government representatives.
"The head of state is under investigation related to the declaration of martial law. Also, the police do not exclude the possibility of summoning Yoon Suk Yeol for questioning. 150 investigators are dealing with the case against the President," the report says.
