According to reports, as per Lebanon's “LBCI” television, during the current security treaty negotiations, Syria is not demanding from Israel the return of part of the Golan Heights that it occupied in 1967.
The report states that Syria is demanding from Israel recognition of the new regime under the leadership of Ahmad al-Sharaa in Syria and to withdraw from territories it has controlled in southern Syria since January.
Furthermore, Syria is demanding clearly defined agreements on security in southern Syria and at the tri-border area between Jordan, Syria, and Israel, as well as support from the US, but the nature of this support is unclear.
The Israeli regime illegally occupied the Golan Heights in an act not recognized by the international community, with the exception of the US.
