Ukraine officially became the 125th country to join the International Criminal Court on January 1, 2025. This was announced by ICC spokesperson Fadi al-Abdallah.

The country is now a full participant of this international treaty, possessing all rights and obligations bestowed upon member states. Among the most significant of these are the rights to vote on the approval of the budget, amendments and additions to the Rome Statute, and the election of judges, the forthcoming prosecutor and their deputies, which to some extent helps shape the future of international criminal law.
