President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on measures to ensure public employment and generate income in neighborhoods with the involvement of banks. The President's press service reported this.
This was assigned during the video selector meeting held on December 16. Consequently, it is planned to employ a total of 5.2 million people by 2025, including over 3 million by the banks.
For this purpose, heads of 208 districts and cities, as well as bank managers, have signed collaboration agreements on ensuring public employment and increasing income, outlining the specific rights and obligations of the parties.
Target indicators for each neighborhood were set. Within the framework of the “neighborhood project” program aimed at ensuring public employment, $1 billion in credit resources were allocated across banks and regions. A monthly performance indicator was set for the district bank manager in charge of developing the project, allocating credits, and ensuring public employment.
Now, the chairman of the Central Bank and his deputies will go to the regions to organize the work of bank branches in the neighborhoods based on a new approach. By February 1, 2025, neighborhood working departments will be established in district bank branches, and “neighborhood bankers” will be appointed for them. Additionally, “assistant-agents” will be selected to work with them in each neighborhood.
Regional banks and district governors will acquaint the population with ready-made business projects and teach them how to implement these skills.
The information systems “online-mahalla.uz”, “bank-kredit.uz”, and “soliq.uz” will be integrated, and the execution of tasks assigned to responsible persons will be analyzed daily. Measures will be taken against leaders whose performance is unsatisfactory.
The year 2025 was emphasized as a pivotal year for ensuring employment and reducing poverty, and it was highlighted that activating the coordinated work of local governments and economic-financial structures is necessary.
