Ankara is preparing for any scenario to resolve the issue with Syria's new government aimed at taking necessary actions against a terrorist organization. Military units on the border have been brought to combat readiness for a possible operation. This is reported by the Turkiye gazetesi here.
The Turkish government, acting under the slogan "A Turkey without Terrorism", is taking all necessary measures to eliminate the PKK terrorist organization in Syria and Iraq. The Erdogan government continues to support Syria in the fields of infrastructure, energy, trade, and health, as well as implementing strict measures against terrorism.
Ankara has repeatedly negotiated with the leader of Syria's new government, Ahmad al-Shar’a, openly stating its demands for the termination of PKK/YPG.
The elimination of terrorists is envisaged in two stages. In the first stage, foreign terrorists in Syria must leave the country. In the second stage, the entire leadership of the YPG, including Syrian terrorists, must leave Syria. Those who are citizens of Syria must hand over their weapons and integrate into the new system.
It is emphasized that while Turkey is interested in fulfilling its demands, it is preparing for any scenario. Military units on the border have been brought to combat readiness. The Minister of National Defense, Yashar Guler, conducted control and inspection works on the situation at the Syrian border together with the Chief of General Staff and commanders.
It should be noted, Ankara objects to the US's support of PKK/YPG under the guise of “fighting ISIS”. Turkey emphasizes its readiness to take control of the fight against ISIS under the new Syrian government, and if necessary, has declared its readiness to send its military forces to assist in this matter.
Currently, the Syrian National Army is also sending heavy weapons and fighters to the front line against PKK/YPG. Combat readiness on all front lines has been raised to the highest level.
