The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, at its meeting on January 14, 2025, adopted on second reading a draft law that envisages liability for the movement of other vehicles in bus laneswas adopted.
The draft law “On amendments and additions aimed at improving the efficiency of public transport use to the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan” introduces liability for drivers of vehicles driving on roads with lanes specifically allocated for route-based vehicles. Specifically, it supplements the code with Article 128-7.
Liability is not prescribed in the following cases:
- the movement of emergency and special service vehicles on roads with designated lanes;
- movement within 50 meters from the entrance or exit point of an adjacent area to the closest broken line zone or to a nearby broken line zone;
- entering the road under the condition of not hindering the movement of route-based vehicles;
- movement on the extreme right side of the carriageway for boarding and alighting passengers.
