Today, on January 15, according to news agency reports, South Korean officials arrested the country's temporarily suspended president, Yun Suk Yeol, at his residence despite opposition from his personal guards.
After his arrest, Yun himself stated that the “rule of law has been completely destroyed,” reports AP.
According to police information, more than 3000 policemen were sent to the villa where Yun has been living in the last weeks for the arrest. Hundreds of his supporters and party fellows also gathered outside Yun's residence.
Earlier attempts to arrest Yun were made on January 3, but it was unsuccessful due to resistance from the president's guards.
