Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko pardoned 16 citizens. This was reported by the presidential press service.
Among those pardoned are individuals convicted on charges related to “extremist activities”. Typically, such charges in Belarus are leveled against political prisoners.
Of those pardoned, 8 are men and 8 are women. Three of them are over 50 years old, and one is a person with a disability.
We remind that in recent months, this is the next mass pardon carried out by the President of Belarus.
