The court of the Ishtikhon district in Samarkand region held a trial on January 13 regarding individuals suspected of disseminating false information about cracks appearing in the Okdarya reservoir. darakchi.uz got acquainted with the court document. 

It was noted that J.H., born in 1988, recorded a video on his phone on January 10, 2025, capturing the ongoing repair works by the reservoir's workers on the south-western shore of the Okdarya reservoir.

In the video, saying "Look, the reservoir in Ishtikhon district is about to overflow, it seems like our reservoir is going to burst," on January 10, 2025, at around 19:00, he, along with M.P., spread this false information posing a threat to public order and safety, by posting and distributing the video clip on various groups and channels across social networks.

The guilt of J.H. and M.P. in committing this violation was fully confirmed by their testimonies during the court hearing, the minutes, explanatory letters, as well as a set of other objective evidence collected in the case.

According to the court's decision, J.H. and M.P. were found guilty of committing the violation stipulated in part 2 of article 202−2 of the Administrative Responsibility Code (spreading false information posing a threat to public order or safety) and were each fined an amount equal to 20 times the basic calculation amount, which amounts to 7,500,000 UZS.
