Ukraine has received more than $70 billion worth of military aid from the United States, but claims that the US aid reached $100–200 billion are incorrect, said President Volodymyr Zelensky.

He mentioned this in an interview with The Associated Press, as reported by Ukrinform.

"As the president of a country at war, it can be stated that we received more than $75 billion in aid from the US. However, the talk that Ukraine received a total of $100 billion, or as some say, even $200 billion of the total $177 billion is not true. This is important because we are talking about exact figures – we received this assistance not in cash but in the form of weapons. The total value of the weapons received slightly exceeds $70 billion," – Zelensky said.

The assistance from the US came in various forms, including humanitarian and social programs, as well as training and education. However, he emphasized that the notion of $200 billion specifically allocated for military purposes for Ukraine is incorrect.

In expressing gratitude for the support, Zelensky highlighted the difference between $75–76 billion and $200 billion. He also pointed out additional funds allocated for supporting Ukraine's energy infrastructure as part of humanitarian assistance.

According to Zelensky, aid for the energy sector amounted to $200 million, and the healthcare sector received approximately $100 million.

"This is $300–400 million allocated for state programs, but we cover these needs either with the help of European partners or through internal resources," – he said.

Zelensky also emphasized the need to continue support programs for soldiers returning from the front. However, he clarified that these funds were not allocated to the Ukrainian state budget but directly to specific organizations by US institutions.

"These funds have not entered our budget but were directly allocated as aid to these organizations by American institutions," – he said.

Furthermore, Zelensky highlighted the existence of many humanitarian programs not directly related to the Ukrainian government.

As previously reported, the US administration under President Donald Trump had suspended foreign aid provided through the USAID program for 90 days.
