The European Union Parliament adopted a resolution on the “deterioration of the political situation in Georgia”. It has been reported that the document recognizes Salome Zurabishvili as the country's “legitimate president”. 

MEPs declared non-recognition of the authorities formed by the “Georgian Dream” party following the 2024 parliamentary election results in Georgia, including the appointment of Kavelashvili to the presidential position.

In addition, the European Parliament is calling upon the international community to boycott them and also to impose sanctions against them.
