The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the country on an official visit on February 17, following an invitation by the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal al-Sabah. This was reported by the Press Service of the President.
At the Al-Kuwait International Airport, our country's leader was welcomed by the Emir Sheikh Mishal al-Sabah, the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah al-Sabah, and other officials.
In honor of the visit of the leader of Uzbekistan, an honorary guard was assembled, national flags were raised, and the anthems of both countries were played.
Our President passed in front of the honorary guard lineup. Then the heads of state greeted members of the official delegations and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
A brief conversation took place between the leaders at the airport's Emir terminal.
Today the President of Uzbekistan and the Emir of Kuwait will hold high-level negotiations. The agenda of the summit includes strengthening friendship and multifaceted partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Kuwait, expanding cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment-financial, and cultural-humanitarian fields.
At the conclusion of the events, it is planned to sign a number of intergovernmental and interagency agreements.
