The Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Olimjon Abdullaev, led a delegation from Uzbekistan on a visit to Serbia. This was reported by the "Dunya" news agency.
The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, discussions were held with Serbia’s Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans, and Social Affairs Nemanja Starovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nikola Stoyanovic, and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladan Zagrajanin.
The meetings focused on external labor migration, simplification of visa procedures, and the development of cooperation in the protection of the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens working in Serbia.
An agreement was reached on the development and signing of an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of migration and mobility.
Additionally, both sides expressed mutual interest in conducting regular consultations between the consular-legal departments of the two states at a convenient time for both.
The parties agreed to expand the contractual and legal framework to develop economic relations and specifically to activate investment cooperation between the two countries.
The results of the visit confirm Uzbekistan’s desire to strengthen mutual relations with Serbia and develop beneficial collaboration in various areas of mutual interest.
