US President Donald Trump ordered a halt in military aid to Ukraine, reports the media, citing a White House official.
It is reported that the halt will continue until Trump sees an effort towards peace from the Ukrainian leadership.
"By stopping our aid, we ensure that it contributes to achieving peace," — states a statement cited by AFP.
"This is not a full stop of help, but a temporary pause," — quotes a statement from a Trump administration official.
Estimates suggest the decision will affect all military equipment not yet delivered to Ukraine, including weapons in the process of delivery or waiting for transit through Poland.
