The head of state in Canada has changed. Mark Carney was elected as the new leader of Canada's ruling Liberal Party.
The former head of the Bank of England won yesterday, on March 9, in the voting process, leaving behind former Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, the leader of the House of Commons Karina Gould, and the entrepreneur Frank Baylis with 86 percent of the votes.
Now Mark Carney will take the place of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who announced his resignation at the beginning of this year.
It turns out that Mark Carney is the former head of the Bank of Canada, opposed to the country's annexation to the United States, and, like his predecessor, a supporter of Ukraine.
