In Makhachkala, the capital of the Republic of Dagestan, heavy rains caused a flood that washed away the foundation of a three-story residential building, leading to its collapse. This was reported by "RIA Novosti".
The city administration also reported that there is a risk of collapse in four other buildings and that approximately 300 people have been evacuated.
The incident occurred because the buildings were constructed near a river.
The rains have also caused problems in other areas of the republic, leaving 139 villages without electricity, halting traffic in more than 50 villages, and canceling 12 intercity trains.
Local authorities reported that high-level preparations are underway to clean riverbeds. Additionally, a state of emergency has been declared in the capital.
