In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as a symbol of the people's broad-mindedness and support, nearly 200 tons of food products were delivered to the Balkh province of the neighboring country, Afghanistan, on the occasion of the Navruz holiday and the approaching Ramadan Eid (Eid al-Fitr).
According to the press service of the Surkhandarya regional administration reporting on this matter, the necessary food products delivered to the neighboring country were handed over in the territory of the Astras company in the city of Hairatan in the presence of the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatilla Ergashev, the governor of Surkhandarya region, Ulugbek Kosimov, as well as officials from the Ministries of Defense, Transport, Construction and Housing and Communal Services, and Foreign Affairs, and the governor of Balkh province, Muhammad Yusuf Vafa, along with officials from both parties.
The humanitarian aid consists of flour, wheat, pasta products, vegetable oil, sugar, instant foods, red beans, and mung beans.
In addition, a bilateral meeting was held in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif to discuss the development of future cooperation relations. During the conversation, there was a special exchange of views on the construction of the Imam Bukhari mausoleum being built by Uzbekistan in Afghanistan.
It is reported that the officials of Afghanistan expressed their gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan and its people for their support and sent their sincere congratulations on the occasion of the approaching Ramadan Eid. New projects being implemented during the visit were also introduced.
