Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced on April 28 that early elections will be held in the country.

"We need to do more to ensure Canada's security," said the minister, referring to the trade war initiated by US President Donald Trump and his threats of annexation.

The next elections in Canada were supposed to take place no later than October 20 of this year, but the Prime Minister has the right to announce the elections earlier, and many expected Mark Carney to do so shortly after assuming the position of Prime Minister.
