In Uzbekistan, the award money given to pedagogical staff on October 1st has been increased.
With the president's decree, an amendment was made to the Cabinet of Ministers' “On improving the procedure for materially incentivizing distinguished employees of general secondary education institutions” decision No. 823 dated September 30, 2019.
Accordingly, employees of general education institutions, including the head staff, can now be awarded up to 75 percent (866,250 UZS) of the minimum wage amount from the fund's available resources, specifically on October 1 — Teacher and Mentor Day.
This change will come into effect from September 1, 2025. During the awarding period, the amount of the award is determined based on the existing financial situation of the director’s fund of general secondary education institutions, within the limits of its available resources.
Previously, teachers received an award of up to 50 percent (577,500 UZS) of the minimum wage amount.
