According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a group of citizens depicted in the photo has been engaged in delivering any type of vehicle to citizens who intend to purchase a car at a low interest rate (6-12%), through social media promotions, across various locations in the city of Tashkent and the republic, forming companies such as "Umid avto companies", “Umid Savdo Fayz Invest”, “Umid Avto Lizing”, “Umid Auto”, “Group Of Companies Ual”, “Umid Avto-Tashkent”, “Orient Auto”, “Umid Lizing Tashkent”, “Orient Avto-Lizing”, “Umid Auto Leasing”, “Group Of Orient Auto”, “Imkon Auto Xizmati”, “Umid Avto Companies”, “Busines Orientauto”, “Umid Auto Xizmati”, “Orient Auto Hamkor”, “Imkon Avto Markaz”, “Avtovariant”, “Ava Orientauto”, “Ava Umidavto”, “Avto Ijara Hizmati”, “Umid Auto Business Toshkent”, “Orient Auto Leasing”, “Orient Auto Tashkent”, “Ilgor Lizing” and “Orient Finans Lizing”.
They have been dealing with the appropriation of funds from citizens by promising to deliver the car within 120 days, having initially signed deposit (advance) agreements with customers, without fulfilling the contract terms.
In connection with this situation, a criminal case has been initiated under Part 4 of Article 168 “a, v” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, recognizing 843 citizens as victims, with a total damage of 50.1 billion UZS identified. 339 vehicles belonging to the companies have been seized. Charges have been made against 9 individuals involved in the case, and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied.
Currently, a Special Rapid Response Unit has been established at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, operating daily from 09:00 to 21:00 at the premises of the MIA Department for Ensuring Safety in Transport and Tourism Facilities.
