The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that the United States is earning 2 billion dollars a day from customs tariffs, according to Reuters agency reported.
Speaking at an event in the White House, Trump did not provide specific information on how this amount was calculated.
It is known that since taking office in January 2017, Trump has imposed various tariffs against a number of countries.
According to the daily statement of receipts and outlays of the United States Treasury's general account, the revenue from "Customs and certain excise taxes" for this month averages about 200 million dollars a day.
In the last fully accounted month - February, the US Treasury collected a total of 7.25 billion dollars in customs duties.
The monthly budget statement for March is expected to be announced on Thursday – April 10, where the latest monthly figures will be presented.
